Launched originally in 2020 we have implemented a series of city-wide round tables looking at the future of the built environment stewarded by Canada’s faith communities. Now, following the COVID-19 Pandemic, the operating crisis for secular non-profits and charities has accelerated this work and bring forward the question: how can these properties be redeployed, in favour of the equity seeking groups (Indigenous-, Black-, LGBTQ2S+-, Women-led Groups, in addition to all secular organizations).

How can the capital and governance crises of religious organizations be combined with a renewed suite of resources for the charities who so desperately need sustainable operating locations, to create new urbanistic opportunities?

We are currently working with municipalities, religious organizations and granting foundations to put forward city round table programmes across North America.
